Today, as the number of people owning car has increased significantly, the number and types of different auto insurance has also increased. You can find many insurance policies serving your purpose. There are policies specially designed for different purposes. For Example, if you own a classic car model, then you must buy the Classic Auto Insurance. What is a classic insurance policy? It is a special type of insurance cover designed specifically to protect a classic car from damages. It keeps in mind the various damage risks a classic car may face.A classic car is not the one that you use very often like your other family car. You invest a lot of money in buying and maintaining your classic car. To protect your invested money, you must safeguard your classic car with an insurance policy made specially to protect classic cars. While looking for the best deals in classic auto insurance, you must keep in mind few points. The first point is the garaging of the car. Most of the classic car insurance providers suggest that when your classic auto is not being driven it must be kept locked in a garage or in a parking area. In fact some insurance agencies do not attend to your claims if they find that you had not kept your car in a garage or proper parking space. Also parking your classic auto in some hotel’s parking lot may also void your insurance claim. So you really need to be careful.Second point is to understand the different valuation methods that the insurer uses. Most of them offer you many valuation options of which the most common one is discussed here. One is the agreed valuation method. In this case both the parties agree on a fair market price. Each year on the renewal of the policy, the classic auto is reviewed. People consider this method as the fairest valuation method but the only difference between normal cars and classic cars is that the classic ones can also increase in value unlike the normal cars leading to a direct rise in the value of the premiums. Third point to remember is that the cot of your classic auto insurance depends on how you use your car. Typical classic auto insurance will cover you only for the damages faced during the drive to and from the classic auto shows. So if you wish to drive your classic car on any occasion other than that, you must ask for additional coverage.

When interested in either buying or selling a classic car, what better place to look or place an add than the classic cars for sale classifieds it’s a place where you and other classic car owners or potential buyers should be.

Many sellers love the classic car for sale classifieds because it’s place for them to get top exposure. They are there to give you top exposure to hundreds of hopeful buyers. For those looking to buy you get to see many cars that you would never expect with great prices and wide selection.

It’s better to look for classic cars in the classifieds because then you get to look at thousands of cars from lot’s of different places and compare them rather than going to a lot with just a few specific cars. You are given more of an opportunity to find something that you will be sure to like.

Different makes that you can look forward to seeing are Cadillac, AMC,Porshe,Toyota, Mercedes Benz, Mazda and many more with models such as Cadillac coup Deville, 1952 Mercedes Benz 220 four door sedan, AMC rebel, Ford Models, Pontiac GTO, Chevy classic trucks, Alfa Romeo just to name a few.

However even though you get a lot of positives there are negatives such as fraud and scams that take place. This happens especially online when people ask for ones credit card number and once gotten has access to the card and may have a free spending spree. It is best to meet all sellers in person when paying for the product no matter what the distance to make sure what is paid for is actually received.

Alternatively, you can use an escrow service to hold your money and only have it released once you receive the classic car you bought online. Classic car for sale classifieds are really a fun place to hang out and enjoy your passion for these cars from the past.

A layman will be forgiven for assuming that vintage and classic cars are the same, but that assumption would reveal you as a novice somewhere like the Vintage Car Rally. If you’re thinking of going ‘retro’ with your next vehicle it’s important to get clued up on which is which.

It turns out that nailing down the answer can be easier said than done and the debate amongst real enthusiasts and fanatics can get pretty heated. Broadly speaking, in Britain any car that was made over 15 years ago could fall into one of three categories. We’ll look at them in chronological order:

A car will qualify and be classified as vintage if it was built before 1930. Cars in this category include the Rolls-Royce Wraith and Triumph Roadster.

The second category covers World War 2 vehicles, also known as post-vintage thoroughbreds. American Jeeps from this era later inspired one of the most well known cars on the roads today, the Land Rover.

Classic cars make up the third category. This classification is slightly muddier as it spans cars made in the 1940s right through to the 1980s. As such this could include anything from a Austin A40 to a Peugeot 205GTi.

If you are thinking of investing in an old car spend some time researching your car before you buy it. Once you’ve found a model you like go down and talk to the owner and check it from bumper to bumper.

Rust is the retro car owner’s biggest concern. Engines can be rebuilt but if the bodywork has been damaged by rust it is very difficult to replace. You may even have to arrange to have a bespoke one built.

Some vintage cars don’t have the safety features offered by most modern motors. For example many are exempt from having seatbelts or even window washers. Investigate what safety features your preferred make and model would normally have and whether you might be able to install them if not. Also consider who your passengers will be, and whether they will object to forgoing all the ‘mod cons’. Plus it’s important to consider how many people will regularly be travelling with you, as many older cars can only carry a limited number safely.

Before purchasing you may want to consider that some older classic car models are exempt from road tax. If your car was built (as opposed to registered) before 1st January 1973 then it will be classed as Historic by the DVLA and as such will qualify for zero rated road tax. That said you will still need to display a tax disc to demonstrate that when you applied for the disc you had current insurance and MOT.

Whether you’ve got a vintage or classic vehicle, car insurance is essential. For some vehicles you may need to go to a specialist insurer, who will understand the specifics of your car and differences between how a classic car driver will drive compared to an owner of a modern car. Remember to tell the insurance company how often you use the car and where it is kept. It’s important to remember that some insurers will assume that a classic car will be kept in a garage and driven a minimal number of miles per year.

For many enthusiasts the pleasure of owning an older car is simply getting it on the road and keeping it in mint condition. So remember buying a classic or vintage car is just the beginning of the journey.

Greenbee.com offers a range of financial, travel and leisure services selected by the John Lewis Partnership.

Supposed you need some information regarding classic car transport because you have purchased a gorgeous Mustang from a tiny town in the middle of nowhere, taking it into your garage is a major issue. It is difficult to obtain a quote from somebody who is not an expert on such field. If you are able to find a reputable car transport company that will handle your vehicle at a professional level then you half-way there. You often wait for ages in getting in touch with of customer service departments and whenyou finally talk with a representative, it seems like you are talking to someone who’s inside a deep well. Do they even care to change the batteries of their headsets? Living in this highly technological period, it is much wiser to get a quote from the web that you can easily print out than to contact a classic express auto transport company. Nowadays, majority of companies dealing with car shipping utilize the web for faster business transactions. In such way, the workers’ energy and expertise would instead be directed towards growing their customer base since they don’t have to bother with issues regarding real estate, only in shippingcars. Transporting your car through an express car transport company can free you from stress because the earlier it arrives, the sooner you can free yourself from all the worries.Cars that have existed for decades commonly known as antique or classic cars often possess unique characteristics that no modern car can surpass. The least thing you would want with your precious classic car is being damaged or its parts falling off or perhaps due to an unprofessional auto shipping company hauler truck driver, your car broke down in the middle of Mojave Desert because he forgot to check the cooling system. In such case, it is better to do car shipping in an enclosed rig. It does cost a bit more but it exceeds the benefits it does to your antique car.Start planning when and where you want you classic vehicle to be shipped and to arrive bygetting your classic auto express quotes in an instance through your email. It’s a stress free wayget your Mustang right next to your door step and see how your friends look at your beautifulnew car with envy.

Caring for any car requires vast amounts of work and commitment. Caring for a classic car involves so much more. The maintenance of a classic car is vital to the value and condition of the car. It is a serious piece of property to have, one that will only increase in value over time if it is well taken care of. It is always a great idea to make a maintenance schedule that you can stick to. From oil changes to exterior cleaning, a classic car is just as needy as any other, if not more so.
One of the first things that anyone will notice about your classic ride is the exterior. A sleek, well kept paint job will draw more eyes and admiration than one that is filled with rust spots and holes. Keep your classic car washed regularly. And always be sure to follow it up with a good wax job. The right kind of automotive wax can go a long way in protecting your paint job. It prevents things like dirt and dust from getting trapped in the paint, which can lead to further damage down the road. And always clean off things like bird droppings if they should land on your car.
Never neglect things that need regular maintenance all the time. Oil changes should be scheduled and performed as needed. There are many fluids under the hood of your car that need to be checked on often and topped up when low. Have it looked at annually by a mechanic that you know and trust. Most general maintenance can be done yourself at home. This can save you a lot of money rather than having someone else do all of the little things.
You should always know how to tow your classic car properly. They are not all the same and some of them can only be towed a certain way. Many older cars must be loaded up onto a flatbed truck. It is both easier to transport and much safer since it is not dragging along behind a tow truck. Knowing how to safely move your vehicle is essential. The last thing you want to do is put your valuable classic at risk.
Always have the right insurance in place for your classic car. There is often a certain type of insurance that is needed for some of these older cars. If you do not have the right insurance, you could be faced with some serious issues. Damages can be very expensive on classic cars so have coverage in place in case something does happen. You do not want to be the one left footing the bill.
Proper storage of your classic vehicle is incredibly important. There are facilities that specialize in the storage of classic cars. However, even keeping it at home is fine if you have an enclosed garage or a trailer where it can be placed up off of the ground. Caring for your classic car is a lot of work but it is always worth it when the value continues to soar.

Restorers of classic cars (either for a hobby or a profit) are noted for a meticulous attention to detail. An accurate, correct restoration will require original parts; nothing else will do. The parts for pre-1980 American iron have been getting tougher and tougher to acquire for a number of years now. While the parts networks for owner’s clubs (as well as eBay) have helped out in running down some parts, just imagine trying to run down an alternator or fuel pump for a ‘61 Pontiac, or the correct windshield wiper, heater and radio knobs for a ‘64 Olds Holiday 88. In some respects, the enthusiasts for long-dead makers like Packard, Studebaker, Hudson or Kaiser almost have it easier; the owners’ clubs have parts networks in place that can help greatly in tracking down scarce miscellaneous parts for those equally scarce cars.

Most of that Detroit iron went off to the crushers years ago, with salvage yard operators preferring to clear out real estate and realize more money from the scrap value of the cars rather than selling them part by part. And as the years wear on, four-doors, station wagons and pickup trucks become more desirable as their muscle-car; convertible and muscle car brethren are already in the hands of collectors and restorers.

It’s a boon for the classic car completist that some salvage yards are there to serve their specific needs, with acres and acres of cars and trucks from the 50s, 60s and 70s in various stages of repair. Some yards will sell an entire car in fully-restored, rolling-chassis or partially restored condition. Other cars might be parted out piece by piece, or the entire carcass might be sold in partial, unrestorable state.

The dry, arid climates of southwestern states like Texas, New Mexico and Arizona make it much easier to find cars that don’t suffer from body, floor pan and trunk rust. The other problem in those states, though, is that Southwestern cars are more likely to have dashboards, upholstery and rubber that have been completely ruined by the sun. Now classic auto salvage yards are tied together through the Internet, providing a comprehensive parts network that helps the salvage operators and the buyers both. While some hobbyists are still going to enjoy the thrill of the chase as they road trip across hundreds of miles of interstates to locate parts, that’s not as necessary as it was at one time.

Naturally, some of the more scarce parts are still going to command pretty good money. But then again, it wasn’t that long ago that no one would have thought that some mom’s worn-out ‘78 Buick sedan would be a desirable car for collectors. It all turns into a matter of supply and demand, and as the really valuable cars get snatched up, other collectors latch onto whatever they can find. At least once you find the parts, it’s easier to devote your attention to the minor (but exasperating) projects like making the concealed headlights on that Mercury work right, or working out all the power-window-wiring or vacuum-schematic problems in your positive-ground ‘62 Continental so everything works like it’s supposed to.

If you are looking for classic auto insurance at an affordable price, then the best place to look is actually online. By using one of the online auto insurance pricing websites, you will be able to find a company that offers both a good rate and the knowledge and experience that you need to deal with your particular vehicle. Most people who only have traditional vehicles never really put any thought into classic auto insurance, and unfortunately the same can be said for your insurance broker. Most insurance agents have no idea how to get a price on a classic vehicle, and they can end up wasting an awful lot of your time. There are some insurance companies that specialize primarily in classic auto insurance, and although they might be easy to deal with because they understand your needs, they are usually much more expensive than traditional car insurance agencies. So, you will really be paying for that added convenience. Any insurance company that looks up the value of your car in the blue book and gives you a low ball price could end up putting you in danger of losing your precious classic vehicle, so make sure that you have the right insurance policy for your vehicle and that it is with a reputable and recognized insurance agency.Because classic vehicles are insured by different standards than regular vehicles, you will be asked questions that a normal vehicle owner would not be asked, such as how you store your car, whether or not it travels on a trailer, what its appraised value is, and if it is actually road-worthy or not. You may find it helpful to get your car professionally appraised before you start the auto insurance policy quoting process, so that you have documentation of its true value.

The term classic car is often used in the description of older cars, although the correct meaning is generally subjected to different opinions. There are hence a variety of applications that can be applied in defining a classic car especially when â??classicâ?? is applied in the form of an adjective and this is also true in the case of a dictionary definition. A certain dictionary defined the term “classic car” as “distinguished by outstanding engineering, fine workmanship and elegant styling built around 1925 to 1948 .” Â

The above definition sounded quite close to one given by CCCA (Classic Car Club of America) whose definition was, â??unusual or fine motor cares built between as well as inclusive of the years 1925-1948. These are all special cars respectively distinguished by their fine design, superior workmanship and advanced engineering standards. Classic cars were generally high-priced while in new conditions and the built quantities were limited. Certain factors including custom coachwork, engine displacement as well as luxury accessories such as power clutch, power brakes and one-shot lubrication systems assist in determining whether a car can be considered as being a Classic. Â

CCCAÂ maintains an endless list of vehicles considered to be classic and although all members are permitted to petition for a preferred vehicle to be part of the list, there is careful scrutinizing of such applications and it is rare to find any admittance for new types of vehicles. This definition is rather exclusive and hardly followed universally, and while CCCA acknowledges this, it still insists that its own definition of the term â??classic carâ?? is true. However, to avert confusion, certain terms like CCCA Classic or Full Classic are used. Most states in the US have legal time-based rules regarding this definition for certain purposes like registration of antique vehicles.Â

The definition in Pennsylvania is “motor vehicle” unlike a reproduction, the manufacture date being 15Â years before the present year and it has been restored and maintained in a condition that conforms with the manufacturerâ??s appearance and specifications. United Kingdom does not have a classic car definition although there are two issues on taxation that have an impact. All vehicles manufactured before 1st January 1973 are not required to pay the road tax excise duty which is paid annually. It is usually inclusive of the license disc as part of the windscreen.Â

There are certain insurance companies that deem any car that is 20 years and above to be eligible for a policy of classic cars, although the car must be 25 years or above to qualify for the license plate of historical vehicles in most states. In comparison to modern cars, classic cars lack the basic features of safety as they are nowadays referred to. These lacking basic features include rollover protection, crumple zones and seat belts. The handling characteristics of the vehicle especially the suspension and the steering as well as the brake performance prove to poorer in comparison to the current standards. Extra care is needed for classic cars.

If you are a true car aficionado, you must surely appreciate cars built in days long gone. The classic cars that were built a few decades ago, have a certain style that modern day cars do not. Don’t get me wrong… I don’t mean that I don’t like modern day cars. I enjoy both new as well as old cars. In their own way, they both have beauty. I don’t have the financial means to support a large collector car collection of my own, which is too bad. Also, I would’t have storage space for them. But I can still look at other people’s automobiles at antique car shows.

If you have never visited a vintage car show yourself, you should give one a try sometime. Auto shows are being organized all the time in larger cities near you. Your local newspaper is a good source to check for any automobile exhibitions. Somebody even organized a car show on a school yard close to my home at one time. There was no other space to display the vehicles. A lack of display space isn’t going to stop the true car lovers amongst us. I’ll gladly travel a greater distance if no car shows are held in my my own area.

You can get lots of information about auto displays on the Internet. Upfront, you want to figure out when they are held and where, ofcourse. Ofcourse, you also want to know what kind of cars will be on display. You may decide to skip this particular display, if the cars shown are not to your liking. Not every car show will have an entrance fee, so figure out if yours does. In case you have to pay entrance, learn how high the price is and how long you get to visit. You’ll have the most value for money when you leave early so you can stay longer.

Check an automotive magazine to see if they are advertising any classic car displays near you. At least some of the advertisements in car magazines are bound to be about organized shows in the near future. But even the magazines don’t always show you everything there is to do in your near vicinity. Asking collector automobile owners for information on the next auto display, is also a good way of learning more. There’s nothing these auto lovers don’t know about classic car related stuff. The more collectibles he has, the better your chances are of him being able to tell you all about upcoming shows!
